The work of Lucarna – a design studio that looked to Winston Churchill not as the wartime leader who worked within these walls, but as the traveller and painter beyond them. The lift opens onto a private lobby, an arched corridor lifting almost to four metres as it draws you forward.
Above the City, Within the Turret
One of only two residences of its kind, this is the largest two bedroom residence plus study at The OWO. Lucarna drew on the places Churchill painted – the saturated light of Marrakech, the ease of the French Riviera, the stillness of the Italian lakes – layering rich, warm colour into bespoke textures. Botanical wallpapers echo nearby St James’s Park; the turret is revealed through a kitchen skylight, the Thames beyond.
Floorplan
The reception room is made for gatherings and quiet evenings alike, the kitchen flooded with light and joined to it by double doors with a skylight that provides turret glimpses entirely yours. The study is true craft – bespoke joinery built and assembled on site by hand by Bulgaro.
Old and new are layered with a painter’s eye for colour. From the Smallbone kitchen in Perla Venata stone outward, every fitting carries the building’s heritage in a contemporary hand. A campaign-inspired bedhead anchors the principal suite, its botanical wallpaper and warm timber floor drawn from the landscapes that shaped the scheme.
